OUR VISION & MISSION | CURRENT OPERATIONS
At Freedom Life Compass (FLC) we believe in a holistic approach to recovery that addresses the root causes of substance misuse and provides individuals with the tools they need to rebuild their lives.
Connecting Individuals with Resources for Recovery & Wrap Around Services
Our Approach Includes
The Gap Initiative: Freedom Life Compass seamlessly integrates connection to recovery homes, advocacy and outreach, and personalized referral services into a unified approach to recovery and support. By facilitating access to safe and structured environments for healing, actively engaging with those in need in various community settings and offering tailored guidance to connect individuals with the resources best suited to their journey, the Gap Initiative represents a holistic and compassionate pathway toward recovery and personal growth. This comprehensive strategy embodies our commitment to supporting individuals at every stage of their journey, ensuring they have the resources, peer support, and opportunities needed to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
- Connection to Recovery Homes and Halfway Houses: Through partnerships with local organizations, we assist individuals in accessing safe and supportive environments where they can begin their journey towards recovery. The variety of facilities offer structured programs, physical and mental health services, counseling, and peer support to help individuals navigate the challenges of addiction recovery.
- Advocacy and Outreach: FLC is committed to reaching individuals at every stage of their journey towards recovery. We actively engage with communities in jails, homeless populations, shelters, and prisons, offering peer support and guidance to those seeking a way to find a better path. Through advocacy efforts, we promote alternatives to incarceration and advocate for access to treatment and rehabilitation services.
- Personalized Referral Services: Recognizing that each individual's path to recovery is unique, we provide personalized referral services to connect individuals with treatment facilities and recovery programs tailored to their specific needs. Our peer team works closely with clients to assess their goals and preferences, ensuring they receive the peer support and resources necessary for long-term success.

OUR FOUNDERS
The Story
Our founder Stephanie who is a woman in long term recovery, started Freedom Life Compass after her brother's last stay in jail, he was being released, and she quickly realized there was a lack of resources being provided to individuals who were genuinely ready to change. Her passion for helping others find the freedom from life's issues through Christ is the driving force behind founding FLC!
Stephanie and Rex grew up in a challenging environment. They fell into the lifestyle they learned, of drugs, alcohol and promiscuity. But through Jesus and the people he has placed their path, Stephanie and Rex are breaking the cycle of dysfunction and substance use in their own families, and they are now both living to help others find the FREEDOM they have found in Jesus "Our Life Compass"!
Rex is the Executive Director of Project Hope Recovery Center Florida & Stephanie is the recovery minister at Crosspoint, Niceville, and serves in various organizations in the community to help change lives one day at a time visit stephaniewedel.com to learn more.
Our vision is to help individuals coming out of life-controlling situations find recovery and resources. We can help begin to break the cycles of dysfunction in the lives around us, in turn, changing the course of their families' lives.
Partnering with organizations in our community we help connect individuals with recovery homes, and halfway homes. We also operate the Freedom Houses transitional homes which are a safe place for women to gain skills and begin their journey to wholeness. We opened the first Freedom House on April 16, 2023, & the second April 1, 2024!
Through our Freedom Houses & the future Life Center, we can begin to change the epidemic of lost lives to substance misuse and the vicious cycle of unmet educational needs that leads to it.
Every day, more than 200 people in the United States die after overdosing, and women incarcerated in the US have increased over 26% since 2020. These statistics are a severe national crisis that effect public health and our country's social and economic welfare.
We must help put an end to it!
